Chloe is a french fashion house. It was founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion, with the idea to create luxury pret-a-porter. This was a new turn in the fashion world, which until then had been about the exclusive Haute Couture. Over the years Chloe has attracted numerous young design talents. In 1966 the young Karl Lagerfeld joined the team and stayed until the 80ies. After that Martin Sitbon lead the fashion house for several years. Lagerfeld returned in 1992 and was then followed by Stella McCartney in 1997. McCartney left 4 years later to start her own label. Her former assistant Phoebe Philo replaced her as creative director. Philo left in 2006 and was followed by Yvan Mispelaere and then by Paulo Melim Andersson. Andersson was replaced three collections later by Hannah MacGibbon. After a weak selling collection MacGibbon was replaced by Clare Waight Keller, who had worked at British heritage knitwear brand Pringle of Scotland before.
